(This guy ------> Konrad Aimery)
~*F*~
It was time for the face-off between
Ally Kat and the archer. The possibility of Ally Kat winning was
slim, however-
BANG!
Ally Kat's gun was a lot faster than
the archer's arrow and she was able to take down the archer in an
instant. She also fired a specialized hand-made bullet into the
airship so that the controls no longer worked correctly and the ship
went hurtling towards the earth. Ally Kat returned inside, and Ven
steered the ship towards where their enemies had landed. All of them
had been so banged up that they were easy to catch and turn into the
police ten days later when they arrived in Sanlio. As Denov and all
of his main men had been in the ship, there was no longer any need
for Carumati to hide in Sanlio.
“That was far too easy,” Konrad
spoke as they walked around Sanlio.
“Yeah. I can't believe Denov didn't
think that it was a bad idea to put all his eggs in one basket,”
Ven commented.
“Well, Denov was always a klutz. I
knew we wouldn't have a problem with him,” Ally added.
“Then why were you so worried about
them all? You said you were,” Konrad asked.
“Ah, well. I thought so at first.
But once I found out my sister was on his team, I remembered that
Denov was actually just a kid who admired my sister so much and was
inspired by her. There was no way he could pick out anyone good,”
Ally explained.
“Yeah, but if Denov was able to
catch your sister's eye and hire her under him... well, don't you
think that she would have refused? She would have known that he was
no good. Plus, the one who sent over that virus was no joke. If
Carumati hadn't been there, we probably wouldn't have made it. If he
was as dumb as you say, why would they follow Denov?” Ven
questioned.
“Didn't you know, Ven? Denov is
extremely rich. I'm sure he offered them all large sums of money.”
“Still, it's strange,” Konrad
said. “It was like luck was on our side.”
“Oh, I wouldn't say that,” Ally
spoke, letting out a sigh.
“Huh? Why's that?” Ven asked.
“Well, because Carumati is no
longer in danger, there's no need for Carumati to stay in Sanlio.
Therefore, we get no payment.”
“What? That's absurd!” Konrad
announced.
“I know. But our contract was only
to put Carumati in safe-keeping in Sanlio. We aren't putting Carumati
in safe-keeping in Sanlio. They probably did that on purpose.”
“You're right. So what are we going
to do with her now?” Konrad asked.
All of them looked down at the little
fifteen year old genius who was carefully fumbling with her scanner
device. Then she looked up and gazed at them through the corner of
her eye, suddenly letting out a bright smile.
“I'll be staying with you, of
course!”
“What?” Ally muttered.
“Of course you can stay with us!”
Konrad said, patting the girl's red head.
“What!” Ally exclaimed.
“Yeah, you might be a big help for
us. We could always use a computer genius and inventor,” Ven
agreed.
“Uh, guys?” Ally inquired.
“So where should we go next?” Ven
asked. He, Carumati and Konrad had all started walking towards the
ship again.
“Guys!” Ally called still
standing.
“Ah, well, we could go back and hit
all the places we missed on the way here, or we could move on, what
do you think?” Konrad suggested.
“Wait a second!” Ally yelled.
Kon and Ven looked back.
“We can't just take her with us. We
have no money and she's just another mouth to feed,” Ally
protested.
“Yeah, but she'll make up for it
with her talents. I'm sure she would be useful in fighting the
bad-guys,” Ven informed.
“That's the other problem! We were
supposed to do this to protect her, remember? We're constantly
getting in fights and making enemies. We can't just pull her into
that kind of danger!”
“No.”
“What?” The three of them looked
around and saw Carumati standing there. She was no longer smiling or
playing with her scanner. Rather she looked extremely serious, and
despite being small, she almost looked her own age.
“No. I can take care of myself. I
have to stay with you,” she spoke, solemnly.
“Why?” Konrad asked.
“Because I am dangerous to normal
people. You, at least, can protect yourselves.” Here the little
girl turned dramatically and walked away.
“Is it just me? Or did that cute
little genius just get scary all of a sudden?” Konrad asked as the
three stood and stared.
“No. That girl definitely just got
scary all of a sudden,” Ally replied.
“That's what I was afraid of,”
Kon sighed.
“Hey, guys! I just discovered
something,” Fable called running towards them from the ship.
“Yeah, what? I thought you were
trying to stay hidden,” Konrad replied.
“Yeah, sorry about that, but I
think I know why we had extremely good luck just then.”
“Huh? What is it?” Ven asked.
“It's because in the author's
world, it's October, and she had to speed things up so she could
begin on her special Halloween tale.”
Ven, Ally and Kon just stared at each
other.
“Ba ha ha ha! What nonsense are you
talking about, Fable?” Kon asked walking past him toward the ship
once again.
“Yeah, seriously, Fable. That's a
bit too much,” Ven said, patting him on the shoulder as he walked
by.
“Fable, where do you even get these
ideas?” Ally asked, following after the boys.
“Hey, wait you guys, I'm serious.
Hey, I said wait! Waaaaiiiit!”
Thus, the full form of GWANAN came
into being.
